Building Young Brixton has a range of opportunities available to help young people aged 14-30 develop their employability skills, gain valuable experience and interview with potential employers.

Baytree Centre

Sparking Futures and Panel Talks, Girls 14+

Monthly workshops including CV writing, interview prep, personal statement writing and alternative routes into employment.

Young Volunteering, Girls 14+

A 6-8 week volunteering placement supporting the planning and delivery of afterschool clubs

Industry Insight Days & Work Experience

Take part in group workshops, talks and office tours, and gain an insight into different

Industries.

Ebony Horse Club

Work Experience, age 14+

Horse related work experience and one off Taster Friday Sessions where you'll gain practical experience working on the yard and taking care of horses.

 

High Trees

Bounce Back, age 18-30

Sign up for 3-4 months of in-depth employment training and support, or 2-3 weeks of intense pre-employment prep for upcoming interviews.

Young Leaders Programme, age 15-18

16hrs of volunteering at Tulse Hill Adventure Playground followed by 20hrs of paid work experience at London Living Wage.

IRMO

Employability Mentoring, age 15+

Mentoring with a focus on supporting the needs of recently arrived Spanish and Portuguese speaking young people, and building confidence.

Bounce Back, age 16-30

Supporting young Latin Americans with access to education and training, ESOL classes, group CV writing and interview prep.

 

ML Community Enterprise

DWP Employment Support, age 16+

You'll be assigned a key worker/and counsellor to work through barriers to employability, and help get you into work.

Spiral Skills

Bounce Back, age 16-30

Sign up for 3-10 sessions to develop your employability skills and take part in apprenticeships, work experience or job placements.

Employment Hubs, age 16-30

On Monday and Friday afternoons, you can drop in at Brixton Castle to receive tailored employability support to suit your needs.
